RedShelf Responds.

Providing students simple access to eBooks during complicated times.

In collaboration with the academic publishing community, RedShelf provided students with free, convenient access to their learning materials.

Free eBook Access Program

As the COVID-19 outbreak escalated in early 2020, campuses quickly moved their on-ground courses to an online format and, in most cases, asked students to leave campus altogether. Many of those students simply couldn’t access previously-purchased materials now locked in their dorm rooms.

Through our RedShelf Responds initiative we were able to provide 100,000 students no-cost access to digital textbooks for the duration of the semester, thanks to the generosity of our publishing partners.

(The program applied to students from nonprofit, semester-based colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada. Each student was able to access up to seven free eBooks, and access ran through May 25th, 2020.)

RedShelf Responds Publishing Partners

All major publishers, including but not limited to the following, graciously agreed to provide their titles at no cost to support our free eBook initiative.
